Karen L. Proudford, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Management at the Graves School of Business and Management, Morgan State University, and affiliated faculty at the Center for Gender in Organizations, Simmons School of Management. Her research, writing and consulting interests include group and intergroup dynamics, leadership, diversity and conflict. She received her B.S. degree in Accounting summa cum laude from Florida A&M University and her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to beginning her career in academia, she held positions at Honeywell, Inc. and IBM. Her work has appeared in academic and practitioner journals. Dr. Proudford serves on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross – Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Region Blood Services Division and was recently named a Fulbright Senior Specialist Candidate.
Marc V. Proudford has over 20 years experience in the public and private sectors, most recently serving as the Director of Human Resources for the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development. Mr. Proudford received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Delaware, and MBA and M.S. in Human Resources degrees from Wilmington College. He has earned designations as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Society of Human Resources, Certified Compensation Professional (CPC) from the WorldatWork, and Health Insurance Associate and Managed Care Professional certifications from the Health Insurance Associate of America. Mr. Proudford has served as Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Maryland Health Care Coalition and presently serves on the board of Healthy Harford. He has also provided mediation services for the Maryland Commission for Human Relations, District Court of Baltimore City and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Ronald T. Proudford has over 24 years experience in information technology working in the education, finance, government and defense industries. He is currently employed as a Senior Systems Technologist for Raytheon Information Systems and has worked for Banque Indosuez in Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Proudford received his B.A.. degree in Communications magna cum laude from Temple University.
William E. Proudford II has over 25 years experience in administration, sales, banking and public relations. He is currently employed by Delaware Express and has worked for the Bank of New York, Traveler's Bank and Citigroup. Mr. Proudford is an Air Force veteran and served for four years as an administrative specialist stationed around the United States and in Okinawa.
Jan L. Williams, Ph.D., CPA, is Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Merrick School of Business at the University of Baltimore. She received a B.S. degree in Accounting summa cum laude from Hampton University and a M.S. in Taxation from University of Baltimore. She was the first to receive a Ph.D. degree from the Earl G. Graves School of Business and Management at Morgan State University. Dr. Williams is a Certified Public Accountant and has previously worked as an auditor for Price Waterhouse [now PricewaterhouseCoopers], an accounting manager for Kirschner Medical Corporation and an accounting lecturer at Morgan State University. Her professional associations include the American Accounting Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, National Association of Black Accountants and Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a member of the diaconate ministry at New Shiloh Baptist Church, Baltimore, Maryland and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She serves as an instructor for an inner-city financial literacy program, "How Green Are Your Dollars?" sponsored by the Baltimore Chapter of The Links, Inc. Dr. Williams was recently named the 2006 Henry C. Welcome Fellowship recipient from the Maryland Higher Education Commission.
Philip J. McGinnis, a realtor for 25 years, is associate broker of McGinnis Commercial Real Estate Co. in Dover, Delaware. He received a Bachelor's degree from Lehigh University and an MBA from Delaware State University. He holds the professional designations of Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), Graduate, REALTOR Institute (GRI), and General Accredited Appraiser (GAA). McGinnis also is a member of the CCIM Institute and National Association of Realtor's Appraisal Section. Mr. McGinnis is a 2006 regional vice president for the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and serves as NAR's liaison for Region III, which includes Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. He has also been quite active at the state and local levels as well and has been named "Realtor of the Year" three times. Mr. McGinnis is chairperson of the Jim Mahlbacher Memorial Scholarship Fund, is a former Rotarian, served on his parish council, and is a former member of the Kent County Board of Adjustments and the Lower Delaware Gridiron Club. He served on the Kent County Comprehensive Plan Technical Review Committee, and a Kent County task force on ordinances and sunsetting subdivision approvals.
Rubye T. Proudford, R.N., received her B.S. degree, with a major in Nursing and a minor in Science, from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. After serving as a commissioned U.S. Air Force nurse, she continued her professional career as a civilian nurse in military hospitals throughout the United States and in Germany. She also was an Instructor in Theory and Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB) at Delaware Technical and Community College, Georgetown, Delaware. Mrs. Proudford's professional memberships included the Nurses Association of American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (NAACOG), the National League of Nursing (NLN) and fraternal membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Dover Alumnae Chapter. She retired from active nursing in 1995. Mr. and Mrs. Proudford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in October, 2003.
Kathy Burrell Sutton is co-owner and President of KEB LLC, a diversified company whose subsidiaries include KEB Promotions, The Reunion Stores and Krowd Kontrol. Ms. Sutton is also a founder of "Keep Our Kids Safe." She received a B.S. in Medical Technology from the Pennsylvania State University. She has been a Medical Technologist, Chief Technologist and Laboratory Supervisor at Pennsylvania Hospital, a lab manager at SCL Medical Labs, a full-time consultant to the medical technology industry, and a Customer Service Representative with Dade Behring, Inc. Ms. Sutton recently returned to Penn State to become a Certified Web Master and subsequently joined her husband in forming KEB LLC in 2002. KEB LLC has provided promotional products to AES/PHEAA, the School District of Philadelphia and many other businesses in the Philadelphia region. |
